What is interX 5000/scenar and what is interactive Neuro-stimulation?
The Scenar/interX 5000 is an electrical device which generates electrical impulses that stimulate the skin at the site of the pain or inflammation and in turn, the entire Nervous System.
This is not to be confused with a TENS Machine.
This therapy is much more about total body / mind communication, assisting the body’s own healing capacities to work more efficiently. It is in some ways like a form of acupuncture without needles, that also stimulates neurotransmitters. This stimulation has an interactive nature and is called interactive Neurostimulation
This is a new type of non-invasive health technology in pain management delivering pain relief through the interactive feedback and bio-feed back with the body.
By Scanning and locate optimal treatment points - InterX technology uses its ability to identify changes in tissue properties to provide feedback to the therapist that is valuable in the identification of optimal treatment locations. The concentric electrodes are moved across the skin, without the need for gel of any kind, scanning for areas of low impedance. Feedback is provided in a number of ways, such as changes in the way the device moves across the skin, or through readings displayed on the screen that relate to the condition of the tissue immediately under the electrodes.
InterX® therapy is a safe, non-invasive treatment that can be used on patients of all ages. Consult your physician regarding the InterX® treatment approach that is best for your individual medical condition. To NRG's knowledge, there have been no reported cases of severe injury due to the use of the InterX® products. However, caution should be taken when using neurostimulation devices as they may interfere with other electrical medical devices.
InterX® therapy may only be delivered by a fully trained and insured practitioner like myself, often in a clinical or sports setting.
Typical treatments last from 15 - 30 minutes and the procedure will involve applying the hand-held device or its remote probes directly to the skin. Treatment will be on the skin of the involved area, and often non-involved areas on the opposite side of the body or the back.
The device may be held stationary or moved along the skin in sweeping motions, depending on the chosen mode of treatment. The sensation the patient may feel a tickling or vibrating sensation, or it may feel like a prickling or fine "needling" sensation. I explain this to my younger clients as the “Healing Bee”. Some people are more sensitive than others to neurostimulation. The way your body responds to the treatment may not be the same as the next person. There is the potential that people who are very sensitive to neurostimulation may temporarily experience discomfort or light-headedness.
The number of treatments needed will depend upon the severity of your condition and how long you have had the problem. Quite often patient’s feel relief after 1 - 3 treatments but complex long standing conditions may require more effort.
The InterX® products can be applied independently as a full treatment or concurrently with existing therapy ( due to my years of experience I may elect to use massage or manipulation, Essential oils on compress along with heat) activities to meet and enhance therapy goals but this very much depends on the individual and the condition being treated.

· Acute minor ankle sprain may only require one 15-minute session for a healthy individual when InterX® therapy is applied as a concurrent treatment to active therapy.
· Chronic low back pain and a complicated medical history may experience a 30-minute treatment and require 3-4 treatments per week for 2-3 weeks.
· Post-operative ACL repair may experience a 15-minute InterX® treatment multiple times before each physical therapy session.
Once therapy has begun, it is important to complete the full, recommended treatment course in order to experience optimum relief from symptoms.
Neurostimulation activates a physical response, which may increase the sensation of pain for a few hours. Adherence to the full course of treatment will minimize symptoms that a patient may experience during the natural healing process.

True Case Reports From My Own Practice;
Mrs L S:
Three years ago Mr L S came to me suffering with chronic pain, she had been suffering for three days due to sciatic spasms reporting that even strong pain killers were “not even touching the pain”.
She had occasionally suffered with this condition in the past but could not report any activity that may have set this episode off. She had not been able to sleep for two nights and was having to deal with two children on her own as her husband was away with work. Due to the pain and lack of sleep she was in great distress.
After 1 treatment, she walked upright for the first time in three days pain free and although I booked her in the next day for a session to ensure that the treatment continued, when she arrived she reported no pain so elected to have a full aromatherapy treatment instead as a treat. I still see this client as one of my regular clients for Beauty Treatments and Aromatherapy. From that day to this there has been no reoccurrence of the pain.

This client had been in pain for two years and could not lift her right arm above half way so her mobility was reduced by 50%-65%. She reported that she had attended physiotherapy on three or four occasions over the last two years. During some of these sessions she had experienced such pain she had wept during the treatments. Mrs S T had given up all hope of regaining the mobility back in her arm and was taking pain killers every day. She attended 6 sessions over the next Month and also regularly followed my exercises given to her after session two when the pain had reduced. After session 6 she was able to leave me with full mobility and pain free.
